OUR LONG NEWFOUNDLAND HISTORY…
Woodstock Public House is the oldest restaurant on the Avalon and was established more than 85 years ago in 1927. It all started with a carriage house serving hearty meals and a cozy resting place for travelers on the road to St. John’s, a convenient place where they could rest & water their horses in the river that runs along the property.
Today, Woodstock’s guest enjoy a relaxing meal served in a quaint cottage. The main dining room is filled with a cozy fireplace, antiques, knickknacks & collectables. Over the years Woodstock has been become a popular location for locals and visitors to the island to dining with friends or loved ones, for family celebrations, private parties, tent weddings & corporate gatherings. There is plenty of Free parking and room for tour bus parking too. Tour groups are always welcome, but please call ahead so we can prepared for larger groups 709-781-2222.
